The Kindergarten application period for the 2026-2027 school year opens on December 9, 2025, while the 3K & PreK application opens on January 14, 2026. As you consider your options, we would love to welcome you into our school building for a tour!
Kindergarten Tours
Please join us for a Kindergarten Tour from 9am-10am on the following Thursdays:

3K & PreK Tours
Please join us for an Early Childhood Tour from 9am-10am on the following dates:
Jan. 29, 2026 (FULL)
Feb. 12, 2026
Feb. 26, 2026
Saturday Tour: Jan. 31, 2026 at 9am
Application Dates & Process
Kindergarten applications are due by January 23, 2026. 3K & PreK Applications are due by February 27, 2026.
Applications may be submitted online with MySchools, by phone, or in person at the District 13 Family Welcome Center located at 355 Park Place, Brooklyn, NY 11238.
Current 3K and PreK families must submit an application as well to be considered for placement with us for PreK and Kindergarten, though current families will have priority in admissions.

How Children Are Placed
Children are considered for placement at PS 270: The Dekalb School from within our school zone, from within District 13, and from other Districts as well (in that order of priority). View our school zone here.
